Governance and Transparency
Jakon Nete exists to support people, projects, and relationships that care for the land, strengthen community, and help carry ancestral knowledge forward. Holding that work with integrity requires clear responsibility, sound governance, and accountability. The people entrusted with that responsibility, the policies that guide it, and the documents behind both are all here.
Statement of Faith
We believe reciprocity is a sacred responsibility born from our relationship with the living world. Rooted in Indigenous Amazonian wisdom, we honor the jakón néte, the life-giving essence that connects and sustains all creation, by caring for the earth, supporting thriving communities, and carrying ancestral traditions forward through prayer, samá, ceremony, study, and song.

Board of Directors
The Board is responsible for the affairs of Jakon Nete: its finances, its policies, and keeping its work aligned with its mission and its Statement of Faith. Spiritual authority and fiduciary authority are treated as distinct in our Bylaws.
Board members are not compensated for serving as directors. Where a director is paid for genuine services performed in another capacity, the Conflict of Interest Policy below governs how that decision is made.
Conflicts of Interest
The Board has a written Conflict of Interest Policy, adopted 25 October 2025, governing how a director's own interests are kept out of a decision that touches them. The full policy is available to download below.
Financial Stewardship
The Board oversees the finances of Jakon Nete: it approves material expenditure, reviews how funds are used, and is accountable for keeping that use consistent with our religious and charitable purposes.
Jakon Nete is a young organization, and we would rather say so than publish a figure that implies more history than there is. If you would like to see reports or financials, write to us and ask. We are glad to talk with anyone considering a significant gift, or to a foundation carrying out due diligence.
