Restoring Living Forests
Pacha Nishi works with Shipibo-Konibo communities and people who steward the land to bring degraded Amazonian land back into health. That includes regenerative agroforestry, medicinal plants, and long-term care for the land.
Keeping Knowledge Living
At Axeti Nete Koshi Tapon, Shipibo-Konibo young people learn on the land with elders and plant specialists. Medicinal plants, regenerative agriculture, language, song, and community practice are all part of what they are learning.
Research that Begins with Relationship
Research and educational partnerships bring botanical study and student learning into direct relationship with people, plants, knowledge, and place. How the research is done matters.
We Need Each Other
Jakon Nete has grown through people knowing people: Indigenous families and communities, teachers and students, researchers, supporters, and friends in Peru, the United States, Europe, and beyond.
A lot of our role is simply to make connections. To help people, resources, and questions find their way toward people and projects already in motion.
Pacha Nishi is an Indigenous-led Peruvian nonprofit working in ecological restoration, land stewardship, research, education, and cultural continuity. Jakon Nete is a separate U.S.-based faith community and nonprofit. It sustains spiritual practice and community, and helps support selected initiatives in Peru through the relationships that have grown between them.
